The Apothecary Diaries audio drama CD (『薬屋のひとりごと』ドラマCD) was announced around a month before the release of Volume 9 of the The Apothecary Diaries light novel,[1] and was included with that volume. Part of the audio drama will be previewed on the Nico Live show "Hero Bunko Tsushin S" (『ヒーロー文庫通信S』). Subsequent CDs were bundled with Volume 11 and Volume 12.

CD 1[]

Included with Light Novel Volume 9:

  • TRACK 1 (untitled)
Beifang (佩芳 [ベイファン]) was a middle-class consort of the late emperor who had a talent for music.
The empress, who had been ill for a long time, left a will stating that she wanted to give the last song she composed to a certain person, but she did not say the important thing, "to whom should I give it to?" She then took her last breath.
If she doesn't know who her heir is, she can't even remember the deceased.
So Maomao is summoned to the Jade Pavilion, and is ordered by Jinshi to investigate, and ends up getting involved in trouble again.
Maomao heads to Beifang's palace to investigate, and is greeted by Beifang's head maid, Kyokyo.
She deciphers the notes left behind and begins to guess who her heir is.

CD 2[]

Included with Light Novel Volume 11:

  • TRACK 1 "Jade Pavilion Girls Talk"
Maomao was having a snack time with the maids of the Jade Pavilion, Yinghua, Guiyuan, and Ailan.
“Did you see anyone nice at the garden party?” Yinghua's words ignite girls’ talk!
  • TRACK 2 & 3 "The Mystery of the Sake Bottle"
Maomako was fired from her position as a lady-in-waiting of the inner palace and was given a room with Jinshi. Pursuing the mystery of a broken sake bottle left behind by a mysterious person who appears at the edge of a well at dawn, she heads to the red light district with Jinshi and Gaoshun. What did you see there...!?

CD 3[]

Included with Light Novel Volume 12:

  • TRACK 1 "Royal Court Boys Talk"
"What are you doing? Lahan-dono, Basen-sama, and Lihaku-dono."
    Rikuson-dono, as you can see...”
Four men gather in front of Lakan's office.
As they wait for their master to return, they begin to complain.
Eventually, the conversation begins to take a turn in an unexpected direction...
  • TRACK 2 "Candle of the Soul"
One day, Jinshi and Gaoshun brought home a candle.
It is said to have the power to bring back the souls of the dead.
It was said to have been sold at a high price.
    Maomao was in disbelief, but...
"It is said that the dead were brought back to life using this candle."
    Gaoshun's words ignite Maomao's curiosity.
