"The Hunt" is the 35th overall episode and the 11th episode of the second season of The Apothecary Diaries anime adaptation.

Jinshi goes on a hunting trip, and brings Maomao along. He seems ready to share his secret with her.

Maomao leaves the harem for a while to accompany Jinshi, who is invited to go hunting by Lady Loulan's father, Shishou. She heads to Northern Province, the land ruled by the Shi Clan, together with Jinshi, Gaoshun, and his son, Basen. While a lavish banquet is being held, Jinshi closes the windows of his mansion, wears a mask, and uses a false name. Maomao is puzzled by Jinshi's behavior, but behind the scenes, a conspiracy is beginning to unfold.
