"A Ghost Story" is the 34th overall episode and the 10th episode of the second season of The Apothecary Diaries anime adaptation.

Maomao joins some women exchanging scary stories on a hot summer night to provide chills.

Three new maids arrive at the Jade Pavilion. The new maids are perplexed to see Maomao quickly disappear after finishing her work, happily living in the storeroom. Unable to stand by and watch any longer, Yinghua tries various schemes to mediate between them, but Maomao's consideration goes to waste. As Nekoneko reflects on her actions and apologizes, Yinghua appears, grinning. Maomao is forced to make a promise. That night, to fulfill her promise, Maomao heads to an old wing of the harem with Yinghua. In the wing where she is welcomed by the beautiful, older court lady, the gathered court ladies begin telling ghost stories...
