"Chilly Apothecary" is the 2nd episode of the The Apothecary Diaries anime adaptation.

Maomao tries to settle into her promotion to lady-in-waiting and food taster, but struggles to fend off both boredom and the overly-familiar Jinshi. That is, until she gets an assignment of her dreams: to concoct an aphrodisiac.

The beautiful eunuch Jinshi finds out that Maomao has figured out the true nature of the "curse," and her knowledge as an apothecary is recognized, leading her to become a maid and poison tester for the high-ranking consort, Lady Gyokuyou. Although her salary has increased, her coworkers are concerned about her being a "poor poison tester," and she has too much free time. At that time, Jinshi asks Maomao to make an incredible medicine.
